Who

Hi! I’m Abigail. I am a catholic wife, and mother to a lovely little boy. My homemaking journey started shortly after the birth of my son. I was on maternity leave, and I was having a hard time keeping up with the demands of a home while also caring for an infant. Even with all the help my husband gave me, I knew that I had to change something if I was going to have the peaceful and cosy home I desired. Over the next little while I developed different rhythms in order to keep my home clean without sacrificing the few short months you get with a new baby.

What

Even though I was overwhelmed when I first got married, I was still able to make (most) dinners from scratch and keep the house (relatively) clean. I thought this was normal, in fact I thought I was barely getting by. That was until I realized that there are so many people who wanted to be able to make from scratch meals, but were struggling to read a recipe. I realized that in a world of quick conveniences the skills required to keep a home running smoothly were slowly slipping away. I just happened to be fortunate enough to have people in my life to teach me the skills I would later need. My mother was a stay-at-home mother who now runs her own cleaning company, and my father was a professional cook for twenty plus years. I believe it was their expertise that helped me form my rhythms of practical homemaking.

Why

Whether you are a single college student hoping to learn how to cook healthy, home-cooked meals for yourself without slaving over a hot stove, or you’re a burnt out new wife or mother just looking for a way to make all the things in life manageable and also enjoyable. You’ve come to the right place. I hope through this blog I will be able to share all the wisdom that has been passed down to me, and a little wisdom I’ve learned through my own trial-and-error. If you are eager to  learn more about practical homemaking and my homemaking rhythms. Please, stick around! Im so excited to have you on this journey with me.
